We're looking for a Head of R&D to join our amazing and growing R&D department.
As the visionary Head of R&D Growth Group, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals, steering the strategic direction of research and development efforts, fostering a culture of creativity, and playing a pivotal role in driving groundbreaking solutions that contribute to the organization's growth and success.
Wake up for this:
- You’ll own the end-to-end tech roadmap for growth: from top-of-funnel acquisition hooks to post-purchase subscription and upgrade flows
- Lead three high-velocity R&D teams (each with its own team lead) to deliver revenue-driving features
- Architect and optimize user-management systems that scale to millions of accounts
- Design robust billing and subscription services that maximize retention and reduce churn
- Build and refine lead-management pipelines that feed marketing and sales in real time
- Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product to turn data insights into growth experiments
- Mentor and develop technical leaders, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous learning
- 3+ years managing R&D team leads, coordinating cross-team deliveries and roadmaps
- 7+ years hands-on software development experience—combining backend expertise in Node.js, Python, Go, or .NET with solid frontend skills in React, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Deep expertise in server-side architecture, cloud (AWS) and databases: microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, designing and optimizing both relational (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Redis) databases; hands-on with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Solid understanding of client-side frameworks (e.g. React, Angular) to partner effectively with front-end teams
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable defining metrics, interpreting data, and using insights to guide technical decisions
- Solid Agile/Scrum or Kanban process chops, with a data-driven approach to prioritization
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills: able to present technical strategy to execs, build teams, and grow high-performing engineers and leaders
